Rally Witzel,

family friend:

This tragedy has given me a chance to give something back, not only to my great friend Robert, but also to this whole family!! It has also helped me open my eyes to what really matters in life and hopefully help many others find that also.

Jeff Howe, stepfather:
This changed me by not letting the little things bother me and also deal with everyday events differently. I miss Jacob really bad, and I wish I had one more day to let him know how much I really loved him.

Brenda Bergstrom, stepmother:

Made me realize how strong I really am. Also made me appreciate and accept the help of my friends, family and even strangers.

Robert Sikel, Dad: Jacob's death changed our lives forever, but by him dying, others will live. The truth is, he is living through Open Arms Yellow Ribbon Program through each of us differently.

McKayla Sikel, Sister: "Losing my little brother made me stronger. It also made me realize how precious life is and how much one person touches another's life."

Angela Blouin, Mom: "Losing my son was the worst day of my life, but it has made me realize that I want to be there always for anyone and really listen to what everyone has to say! Life is too short. Take this serious! Miss you Jacob-I love you." To contact Angie, click her photo to email or

Darcy Roemhildt, aunt:

Losing Jacob and starting the Yellow Ribbon Program made me look at our community and realize just how big the need for a suicide prevention program is. Never did I think we'd have this in our family, but I'm grateful to help others.
